Childrens Programs at HCC
HCC hosts many different playgroups. There are the cultural playgroups, German, French and U.K. playgroups who meet to maintain their language and traditions. Newcomers are always welcome to these groups. Messy Mornings is a well known open playgroup that has been running at HCC for over twenty years. Everyone is welcome to come along, no enrolment necessary. There are several other playgroups comprising groups of friends who have booked time in the playroom. New groups of ten or more should enquire at reception if they wish to book in a regular time.
THE PLAY ROOM
The playroom offers art and craft materials, a play area and tea and coffee facilities whilst outside there is room to run around, a sandpit and a cubby house. The playgroup years are a special time for parents and pre-schoolers. Parents engage with their children in playdough, paint and the never ending fascination of sand and water. Helping your child experiment and learn is the foundation for their attitude to all future learning. In addition, it is a key element in the development of your relationship with your child. In this social and stimulating setting, positive experiences can offset some of the trials of being two! Parents make new friends and exchange information and ideas, while the children learn to take turns and share. You are encouraged to make full use of the playroom facilities and enjoy this special time with your child.
